Jayce & Mel: Vendetta's New Champion Printings

Every confirmed Jayce and Mel printing in Riftbound, including two brand-new Vendetta cards — real stats, domains and rarities, not speculation.

Jayce and Mel are two of the most-searched Riftbound names right now, tied to Vendetta's Empower mechanic. Here's exactly what's confirmed today across both champions — real card data pulled straight from our database, not speculation.

Jayce: five printings and counting

Jayce now has confirmed printings across two sets:

• Jayce, Man of Progress (Spiritforged, SFD 084/221) — the original printing. Rare, Mind domain, 4 energy for 4 might. Also has a Promo variant of the same card.
• Jayce, Man of Progress (Vendetta, VEN 175/166) — a Vendetta reprint of the same card, same stats.
• Jayce, Brilliant Inventor (Vendetta, VEN 068/166) — a brand-new printing. Epic, Mind domain, 6 energy for 6 might.
• Jayce, Hammer in Hand (Vendetta, VEN 088/166) — a second brand-new printing, this time Rare, Body domain, 4 energy for 5 might.

Is either of these a Jayce Legend card?

Worth clearing up the confusion behind that search: in Riftbound, a Legend is the single card you build your whole deck around, chosen before the game starts — a distinct card type from a Champion, a powerful unit you play during the game. Every confirmed Jayce printing above — old and new — is card type Unit (a Champion), not Legend. Legend cards are also typically titled by an epithet rather than the champion's own name (Jinx's Legend, for instance, is printed as "Loose Cannon"), so we can't rule out a Jayce-aligned Legend under an unrelated title with total certainty — but nothing bearing his name is a Legend today.

Why Jayce spans two domains

Jayce's two brand-new Vendetta printings split neatly across Empower's two home domains — Mind (Brilliant Inventor) and Body (Hammer in Hand) — see the full Empower guide for why that pairing matters. That's a real, confirmed reason he keeps coming up in the same breath as the mechanic, even before we know which (if any) of his printings actually carries the Empower keyword.

Mel, Newly Awakened — now confirmed

Mel's first confirmed printing is real: Mel, Newly Awakened (Vendetta, VEN 069/166) — Epic, Mind domain, 4 energy for 4 might, with an alternate-art variant too. She sits one collector number after Jayce's Brilliant Inventor printing (068/069), both Mind, both Epic — a strong sign the two are meant to be played together.

When will these have prices?

Vendetta released on 31 July 2026, so these printings now carry live prices — tap any card above for its full store-by-store comparison. The gallery above will show real prices the moment they do, the same as every card on RiftCompare.

FAQ

How many Jayce cards are there in Riftbound?

Jayce has confirmed printings across two sets: the original Jayce, Man of Progress from Spiritforged (which also has a Promo variant), a Vendetta reprint of that same card, and two brand-new Vendetta printings in Brilliant Inventor and Hammer in Hand.

Is Jayce a Legend card in Riftbound?

No. Every confirmed Jayce printing, old and new, is card type Unit (a Champion) rather than Legend, so nothing bearing his name is a Legend today.

Does Jayce have the Empower keyword?

That is not confirmed yet. He comes up alongside the mechanic because of where his new printings sit, but we do not yet know which of them (if any) actually carries the keyword — the full Empower guide covers how it works.

Why is Jayce in both the Mind and Body domains?

His two brand-new Vendetta printings split neatly across Empower's two home domains — Mind for Brilliant Inventor and Body for Hammer in Hand. That is a real, confirmed reason he keeps coming up in the same breath as the mechanic.

Is there a Mel card in Riftbound?

Yes. Mel, Newly Awakened (Vendetta, VEN 069/166) is her first confirmed printing — Epic, Mind domain, 4 energy for 4 might, and there is an alternate-art variant of it too.

Do the new Jayce and Mel cards have prices yet?

They do — Vendetta released on 31 July 2026, so these printings now carry live prices. Tap any card in the gallery above for its full store-by-store comparison, or see every Vendetta card with live prices.
